Creating safe Spaces for Intersex, Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming individuals in Kenya since 2012.’

A Kenya That Celebrates Diversity.

Jinsiangu is a Kenyan-based organization founded in 2012 to empower and protect the rights of Intersex, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming (ITGNC) individuals. Through advocacy, community support, and partnerships, we strive to build a society that embraces diversity, justice, and bodily autonomy for all.

About US

At Jinsiangu, we are more than an organization—we are a movement. Founded in 2012 by a courageous group of intersex and transgender individuals in Nairobi, we began as a safe space for dialogue and solidarity. Today, we stand as Kenya’s leading advocate for Intersex, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming (ITGNC) communities, driving systemic change through advocacy, research, and holistic support.

Our work is rooted in a simple yet radical belief: every person deserves freedom, dignity, and the right to live authentically. From spearheading national policy reforms with the Kenya Police Service to pioneering life-changing programs like the National Transgender Advocacy Network (NTAN), we are committed to creating a Kenya where diversity is celebrated, not silenced.
